Another Great Week

My dear Olivia is progressing beautifully.
She is expressive and active. She loves to laugh and smile , roll and be on her tummy. She's a very strong little girl. The weather has been fantastic so we've been spending a lot of time outdoors. She loves going for stroller rides in the forest. Since it has been so sunny, I think I need to get Olivia some sunglasses:)Olivia is also enjoying her applesauce quite a bit. It's cute to watch her eat. A friend of mine has made herself available to help out with Olivia once a week. I find motherhood to be very busy. Becoming a parent puts your life into sharp focus very quickly. I've had to develop some new skills; budgeting, organization, planning, scheduling and time management. It's a lot to take in, but I'm really enjoying the entire process. I really appreciate the support and advice I have received from friends and family.

Getting Big

Olivia is a little champ. She can dance, wiggle, kick, punch, screach, hold her head up,smile, laugh and roll. She has an excellent appetite and a fabulous sleep schedule. She's very comical! Sometimes I can't quite get over how big her eyes are.

Happy New Year!

Olivia is doing really well. She is now 3 months old. She smiles, laughs, coos and gurgles. She has very expressive eyebrows. She weighs about 12 pounds and has an exellent appetite. I am happy to report that Olivia is now sleeping through the night a few nights a week. She's very active; she is starting to hold her own head up for longer periods and loves kicking and swinging her arms around.

Olivia was treated to many special gifts over the holidays from friends and family. My family and friends have been a wonderful support.

Everyday I learn something new about Olivia. We are getting to know one another. This month I learned that Olivia loves hearing bedtime stories, listening to the CBC (105.7fm) and yelling. Last week I recorded some of her noises on my cell phone.

Motherhood is so special. The relationship grows everyday. Having Olivia in my life has been a tremendous highlight.
This month I plan to start working on getting back into shape. I take Olivia in the stroller and my two dogs out walking for about 45 minutes everyday. I've arranged childcare with my family so that I can start running twice a week. Finally, my diet has been all over the map for the last few months, so I'm starting Weight Watchers as well. I spent some time this evening preparing my food for the week. I also have a book where I can record my food journal and points. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

A Special Thank You

Olivia is now 9 weeks old. I feel like I'm living in some fantastic dream. She's a wonderful baby! She continues to enjoy bathtime, stroller rides along the trails with the dogs, listening to music, her baby swing and of course, time with mommy and daddy. I've had a lot of support since she arrived.

We'd like to thank the following family members for their love and support:

Grandma - Thank you for spending time with us, checking in regularly, arranging Olivia's baby shower and being a good support to me when I've been tired and weepy. We love you very much!

Grandpa - Thank you for your letters, financial support and coming back into our lives. We love you very much!

Auntie Mary/Uncle Adi - Thank you for the beautiful card and money for Olivia. The phone calls are helpful too. I can't wait for you to meet baby Olivia. We love you very much!

Uncle Gerald - Thank you for visiting us in the hospital, it was so nice to have you there. Our Sunday visits have been terrific! We love you very much!
